Formed the tail skid fairing, C04-05, from the supplied blank. Cleco'd the bottom skin in place and drilled holes to mount the fairing. The print shows the aft part of the fairing aligned with the back of the rudder post. In that location two of the holes are beside the bottom AN3 screws. I moved the fairing about 1/4" aft so it aligns with the back of the fuselage to avoid the screws. The aft 4 fairing mounting screws are on the bottom longerons so I drilled/tapped those holes for 8-32 screws. The forward 4 holes have #6 sheet metal screws.
Did a preliminary weighing with everything on the airplane, empty of fuel. The total empty weight is 626#. I still need to do a careful weight and balance, verifying datum points and weighing with the aircraft confirmed level in pitch/roll.
